Governor Greg Abbott has launched a legal battle against Texas State Representative Gene Wu. Abbott claims Wu led the Democrats in fleeing Texas to break quorum.

Abbott warned that Democrats would face consequences if they skipped the House session on August 4. Wu and others ignored this, abandoning Texans and their responsibilities.

The lawsuit accuses Wu and the Democrats of abandoning their offices. Abbott argues their absence blocks the House from conducting business for Texans.

It also suggests Wu and his colleagues received benefits for skipping the vote.
